Stephen Weber
Stephen Weber is owner and president of Pacific Coast Hospitality. Over a long and distinguished career in hospitality, Steve has seen and done it all. As a C-suite executive, restaurant owner, consultant, concept guru, brand builder and above all else, people person.
One of my guiding principles, the thing I love to teach and train about, is frame of mind. In our business we are advocates for our guests. If we can wrap our brain around the idea that every moment we are cooking, serving, bartending, managing, talking on the phone with guests, working with vendors, booking a party—if we can see those moments as being an advocate for our guests, eveyone wins. Advocacy scales in every direction.
I look at every aspect of the hospitality industry through one lens: relentless perfection. People will tell you that perfection is not attainable. I absolutely disagree with that. I’ve experienced perfection, so I know it’s possible.
At Pacific Coast Hospitality, it’s all about reputation. We have a decade of leadership in the industry and a lot of very satisfied clients. Organizations where we’ve placed great talent, and candidates who’ve gone on to do great things. It’s as simple as that. We love it and we’re pretty good at it.
The best, most rewarding part of this is when good people thrive. Folks that you’ve mentored, and helped train, or placed in a leadership role—watching them succeed is hugely satisfying.
You do have to really look deep into people. The most challenging part is finding the right fit. You have to get creative. You have to be able to see things in brilliant, talented people that they can’t always see themselves. If you look hard, it’s amazing what you can find.
Essentially, my history boils down to three things. Developing concepts, building brands and growing companies. I’ve worn a lot of hats; I’ve recruited and hired a large number of very talented people. It continues to be a fantastic experience.
My grandmother was something of a leader in her little town in Wisconsin. She hosted parties and when I was a child, I used to help her. I would hang up coats and clean the astrays. I served drinks; I knew how to make a Manhattan when I was 10 years old. She instilled in me this idea that taking care of people and treating them well, that was really a way of loving them. That was a really critical part of my childhood. And it’s why I do what I do.”

Above all, keep confidences
The confidentiality of our Clients and Career Candidates is a sacred trust. Our commitment to you and your privacy is unwavering. Complete confidentiality is the rule at every stage of our recruiting process.
Know the local scene
As passionate believers in local, we serve the market we know best, the western U.S. and British Columbia. We’ve worked and lived here for 35 years. We know the trends and the people. That’s why we receive quite a few unpublished and confidential management openings.
Know the business
After thirty years in the business, we absolutely know the hospitality industry — from boardroom to break room. We’ve worked at all levels of the restaurant industry. We speak the language. We know the people. We know where the openings are. We know how to find good people who care.
Love service
Great service begins with beliefs and values. There’s no finer training ground for delivering outstanding service than hospitality. We’ve worked for and led some of the industry’s top guest service providers. Our passion for exceptional guest service infuses our company. Guests, clients, candidates, vendors — we’re here to serve.
Care about people
The restaurant business is about people and relationships. Lasting relationships with friends, clients and job seekers. That makes us a little different from “hard sell” recruiters. We take pride and real joy in building long term relationships that make life and work a real pleasure.
Always be professional
You can count on us. It’s that simple. Expect absolute professionalism every step of the way.
